HYT CEO Vincent Perriard answers some hard-hitting questions about the future of the brand

Despite having a unique design and novel tech, the brand has had plenty of trouble in the past, but new Chairman Vincent Perriard is set on turning their luck around. That’s hard enough as it is, but what’s already impressive is that Perriard is willing to face these issues directly, answering questions about them openly and with clear understanding of how to resolve them. While HYT was never a budget offering, the brand was hugely unfocused when it comes to the price range it used to cover, spanning a range from the high-five figures into the hundreds of thousands.
Going forward, there is going to be a clearer distinction in the brand’s offering, and that begins with the new T1 collection (full review coming to T+T in the next few days). For the first time, the pieces hide away the mechanism powering the fluidic hours, which was something that Perriard admits was never in the plans.
If you were a fan of HYT’s previous work though, like the crazy Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires, don’t fret. It’s still an avant-garde brand with avant-garde designs.
